Out In the Cold

[Nami]

"Ah... cool I suppose. It took me a while to get a taste for it myself but once I did I never stopped using it."

[Kaida Shade]

Neil chuckled. "Yeah, it does have that effect if it's used well."

[Nami]

Finding herself unable to think of more to say on the subject of food, Nami moved on and hoped he wouldn't mind that she had. "So... like to travel much?" she questioned. She wasn't entirely sure why she'd asked, just felt it was one of those sort of things to ask people.

[Kaida Shade]

He chewed reflectively. "I don't really get the chance much. I only got here by accident, but I've always wanted to see the world..." he grinned "My world anyway."

[Nami]

She nodded. "Seeing the world... even if it's not your own I guess... it's always worth it." Nami laughed. A flash of familiarity lit up her eyes. Ah Flame... What I wouldn't give to see Xorth with you once more.

[Kaida Shade]

"Hmm." He looked thoughtful. "I get the feeling this isn't your world either?"

[Nami]

"Fortunately or unfortunately I have adapted to mostly make this my world...but yes you're correct. I come from a land called Xorth actually not that I expect you'd heard of it." She heaved a homesick sigh. "I miss my friends... particularly my best friend, Flame."

[Kaida Shade]

He reached out to pat her hand. "I'm sorry. Did you end up here the same way I did?"

[Nami]

She nodded. "Much the same... I've been getting an odd feeling in the back of my head though. Magic isn't nearly so strong in this place as in Xorth but I can feel thought-communication there. It isn't strong enough to reply to. I think it's my brother. He probably followed me here somehow or another." She looked at one of her palms where a silvery oval seemed to be fading. "Poor Flame and poor Keresk must miss me. I do hope little Reskie doesn't get into trouble...silly Dragon never did know how to behave without me around."

[Kaida Shade]

"Wow... sounds like an awesome place. And... I'm sorry about your friends. Isn't there a way for you to get back?" He looked genuinely upset.

[Nami]

She shook her head and her pink hair fell into a veil around her face, covering her emotional expression. "Yeah it's an awesome place... but I don't know how to get back. I miss Zontan. I bet he misses me too. Keresk, Flame, all the Dragons of Flame Heart... my Uncle... everyone." She didn't seem to mind that he had no idea what any of the names meant or who the Flame Hearts even were, him listening was comforting.

[Kaida Shade]

He didn't particularly mind not knowing what she was talking about, it fascinated him. Maybe he was just nosy, but Neil Kirana was a man who liked to listen. Just as well, as he was the sort people seemed to confide in.

[Nami]

She then blushed bright red. "My apologies. I didn't mean to go off on an emotion-rant. I'm just upset is all."
(bah, writer's block today D:)

"It's okay." He leaned over the table slightly, not entirely sure whether she would appreciate a pat on the hand or a hug or something.

[Nami]

On impulse she hugged him, a few tears running down her face. After realizing what she did, Nami backed off with a bright red blush. "I'm sorry...Again..."
