Fox reclined on an extra pair of chains like a comfortable chair, feet off the ground.
Now, let me show you how a real chainmaster does it.
The third came out again and closed in like the mandibles of some metallic Predator thing without the SKKRSKRKKgrrbl noise.

Lentan flicked his staff-blade back in and leaned on it. Apis lowed annoyedly. Hey, that was MY prey!

Gral dodged one of the chains, he was getting sluggish from lack of blood. He yelled with pain as the other two chains wrapped around him. He tried to struggle to get out futily. He went limp. he was going to die of bloodloss if he kept thrashing about.

Fox didn't seem to care. In fact, he just let Gral do the work killing himself with his thrashing.

Lentan glanced at Fox. Had enough yet, or err... hi Al.

Gral changed to human form, the wounds shrinking and sarting to clot.

Fox's lip twitched briefly. The pain was getting to him. With an almost rythmic clanking the chains slid up and around and held him up in a more upright positon, feet planted on a curve and leaning back, but still high enough to oversee. He didn't need wings to hover.

Now what did we learn about challenging our GOD, child? Fox's eyes flashed malevolently. His mental voice somehow rang out within the confines of their minds.

"G-god?" Gral muttered, blood frothing at his mouth.

Yes. God. the voice wavered mockingly and he dropped down from his perch to stride over, out of striking distance. Now answer my question. he smiled. Right now, he didn't feel the need to ackowledge Lentan, since he kinda wasn't Fox.

"Don't challenge them on a roof?" you don;t challenge them... In his state of bloodloss, Gral hadn;t even noticed that he said what he meant to think and vice-versa until it was too late.

Oh he knew how insignificant he was.... Ney, Alenze gave him the jeepers. Apis didn't look too pleased either.

Not insignificant, but in the eyes of Alenze he might as well have been.
You do not challenge us! he hissed, wrapping a chain tighter. You do not speak down do us, you do not harm us, you do not do but what we say you may do - SSSSSS he made an awful screeching sound and staggered back. The pain and his volatility were getting to him, and Alenze was losing his usual creepily stoic demeanour.
