They usually were unless he took control. Or were the Chain Beast, ohoho chain beast.
Fox risked a glance back at Lentan. "Don't mock the child." he.. well, mocked. Hurr. "Now why are we here throwing things at passing strangers? And if you're going to hit me, fight like a man and HIT me."

Gral threw two cards,, one of them about a centimeter from the other, and a little behind. so it was almost impossible to see from Fox's angle, all as well notice. Though the chains blocked one of the cards, the other slipped right by and became embedded in fox's skin. Whe the poison took effect, Fox would feel burning in his arm, which would slowly spread throughout his body. the Poison was relatively slow-acting and weak so it would not kill the man.

Lent noticed Fox'd been hit by that card, in some way, and let his summon loose.
Here, what he summonned was pretty randomised, and it ended up with... holy cow? A holy cow that plunked down on that card-wielding stranger. It moo'd loudly and started stomping down on him moodily.

Gral instinctively changed to decom form, his tail punching into the cow.

((*Ahem* Moving on. *Shoos dirty German away* Bad. Go back home.))
Fox stepped back and stared numbly at his arm for a second before plucking the card out and pitching it back at Gral in a small outburst of rage. How dare he? The pain he could deal with, but the trio of chains arching over behind him like overprotective cobras said otherwise about the indignity.

Lentan made a curt move with his hand, and the regal bovine summon trampled off him. It wasn't even of this world, and only half-physical, so the entity wasn't too hampered by the attacks. It stood on the sidelines now, snorting into the dust dejectedly.
Fox could handle this, but may this be a warning, i've got sleights of hand too.

((I misread 'curt' as something else entirely...))
Fox eyed the thing. "...Can we keep it...?"

the card that Fox threw just flitted to the ground. cards needed proper technique. Gral, blind with blood lust, didn't see the chains behind fox as he suddenly became covered in the lethal red spikes and charged at him.

Fox threw open his wings, one of which kept together with a silver wire at a break, and despite the pain got several feet in the air. Then the chaisn came down like a thrashing, writhing, bladed tonne of bricks.

Lentan ordered Apis to take some distance, and she gracefully did so. Oh, she'd get her horns into this one's arse someday..

Gral dodged the chains, for the most part, but almost fell off of the building thus throwing off his timing and was his by one. Hard. Gral was on the roof, and started to pick himself up, the red spikes on his body fading away. "Fuck...."

Fox dropped down in a cat-crouch when the strain on his wing grew too much - and took over the chains.
The third one dropped back but the other two went from crazy to going at every nasty spot they could find.
The one that hit him pierced his flesh like butter and snapped its blade open against the inside, latching right in and dragging him back up, to tear out at the highest point in the ac and send him sprawling upwards, presumably with blood going everywhere.
Nice detail there, Schem.

".... I think he's getting smarter already." Lentan called over. "Just a few more brain cells and he'll realise it's a bad idea to attack strangers."

Gral Yelled as he was hurled upwards and landed in a heap. His yelling subsided to grunts as he tried to stand up. He wasnlt going down this easily. Luckily there were no real tender spots in this form other than his neck. which was only tender becausem well, he needed it to breathe.
