Name: Prominence
Age: One Hundred Million and five hundred thousands years old.
Tech: The current state of technology is very low, but there are ruins of giant mecha and advanced machine from the past buried underneath the shifting sands.
Magic: No magic at present. Used to be around, but no-one really knows how it was used. (as in, aremoancy, pyro...etc.)
Structure: It's a MASSIVE desert. Near the poles, it freezes over into an icey wasteland, and in some places around the sea or near underground rivers it's fairly lush with forest.
Inhabitants: Just about anybody who can get there. There's a humanoid colony made from a planet somewhere, but they've almost died out, and desparately trying to survive. There's not much communication, so just about anybody could be lurking there. The wildlife is mostly reptiles, and scorpions. In the forest areas, there are the typical jungle animals, and in the seas there are fish. There are some BIG fish in there too, which are fairly aggressive.
Cultures: They're nomads, so very little culture or sophisticated style. Just a basic law of survival.
VIPs: There are no real heroes known to the current populice, but there used to be a civilisation that existed before the planet got too close to the sun, and began to boil the inhabitants. In it's average cycle, it went very close to the sun, and very far away, so I'll explain in the relevant section. No known heroes, but there probably are some.
Habitats and landmarks: Mainly desert, sea, a frozen waste, and a bunch of jungles littered around the globe.
Level of xenophobia: There isn't any as such. No one species really owns the planet right now.
Additional/Backstory: The primary reason that the world is now a wasteland with remnants of a long-lost civilisation is not due to any cliched nuclear war, or a meteor. It's because the orbit of the planet takes it very close to a sun, and very far away. The extreme weather patterns caused
(droughts, blizzards, ice ages, very hot weather etc) meant that all evolving life was hindered greatly, and kept almost dying out; so as a result, the technology advanced very slowly, and the terrain outside became treacherous, so machines were used to travel around. Of course, was did happen, and due to the size and power of said machines, it was very destructive, and was a massive drain on the land. So the inhabitants ended using most of the rescources, and were unable to protect themselves in the harsh ice and blazing sun, so they eventually died out.
World: Prominence
Universe: Lone World, at the moment.
Belongs to: Courtjester
Additional notes: Desert world, with remnants of a lost culture littering the sands.
