Blue Moon Day

I don't usually do poetry, this was sort of a... thing that just happened.

The Blue Moon Days for the demons of Zeshik's clan are basicaly periods of time when they are free to swap their hosts between them. Of course this practive requires a level of trust, as they have no laws regarding 'safe handling of host bodies' that keeps them from getting too rough with their borrowed body. It enhances the demon's power over their hosts as well.

Don’t get caught in their re-bel play
Fated, tied to them all-ready
Get ready for the demon dance


This is the day of the de-mon chair dance
Switch and change and
Take and move and
dazzle and do the demon dance

Gamble with minds
Gamble with souls
Gamble with everything they’ve got
Gamble with bodies
Gamble with pain
Gamble with their last drop of
Sa ni ty
Proving all cries for mercy
To be in naïve vain

Poor mortals pray
That this be over soon
Poor mortals pray
For quick defeat
Poor mortals play
Only pawns in the game
Poor mortals won’t
Want to see tomorrow


Once in a blue moon
With fangs and claws and wickedness
They will dance the dance
The demon chair dance

“How is yours?”
Oh quite docile
Silly bugger doesn’t know
Doesn’t realise
That from now on until forever
He’s part of the demon dance.

“Oh is that so
How entertaining
May I borrow
And let him learn
That from now on until forever
He’s part of the demon dance?”

Oh be my guest
But keep in mind
There’s others waiting
To do the same
be
C r e a t I v e

Teach him the demon dance

It's both whimsical and slightly threatening from the demon's POV here, basically 'let's have fun and the possessées get to suffer lol'

the last part's a dialogue between two demons bartering about a switch (duh)

Very well done It has a great flow to it and I love the word choices.
